stupid snow!
Ok, so I will admit that I was excited about snow here in Norfolk, Va at first, but now its just getting plain annoying! Today I was suppose to go to the last day of wedding week and that was cancelled, I can't go anywhere because my car can't handle all of the snow and ice, and I dont know if I will be able to make it to work tomorrow!!!! AHHHHHHHH!!!!

Snow in Norfolk??
Yes, it is true! We FINALLY have more than 3 inches of snow!!!! I decided to venture out and take a few pics of the house and Chivy playing, then I realized that the wind was picking up. Hopefully tomorrow will be less windy so I can take a few more pictures!

oops... almost forgot!
Billy's work shop on the ship got picked for SPACE OF THE DAY! Its a photo featured every day in the 5 star!
Amazing news!
For the past few months our lives here in Va. have been a little stressed. It wasn't the upcoming deployment, or the wedding planning, it was whether or not Billy was going to be picked back up by the Navy. This morning, I got a phone call from Billy and the answer was yes! I don't remember the last time I have been so excited, well maybe the time he proposed, but this comes a VERY close second. So now we have a new journey besides all the planning for our nuptials and his deployment, we now get to find out where we will be stationed. There is a 98% chance it will be here in Va, where we wont have to sell our house for now, but you never know with the Navy!
On another note, I recently got a few pictures from Billy. These photos were taken from a heilo onboard the Ike as the ship was passing through the Strait of Gibralter!

changing......part 2
So here are some pictures from my living room re-arranging.....
BEFORE:
BEFORE:
Yes, I did this on my own, without Billy! Im pretty proud of myself. I ran the cables underneath the carpet, moved the t.v. and couches!! One thing I wont do is put the plasma on the wall by myself. Hopefully Billy will remember to do that when he gets back!

changing......
Since Billy is on deployment, I've started to do some house projects. My first one was to change the living room around! It was a lot harder than expected because I had to pull the carpet up and run cables underneath, but it turned out wonderful!!!! I'm proud of myself for finally doing it, it had been something I wanted to do for the past 2 years. Before and after pictures are coming soon!
Bored
So after working a 10+ hour work day I get home to a wonderful e-mail from Billy containing the following picture.
First off, that "bullet pen" was a gift from my mom for the last deployment, second, I have NO clue where he found the "pen holder". My lord.

The Ike's first mission
The day he left......
Being a military spouse, fiance, girlfriend, family member, or friend is hard. We have to deal with the big "D"..... deployments. They aren't fun, cute, or exciting, unless you are the person that is leaving and really enjoys being on a ship out at sea. My fiance, Billy, is currently serving his country in the United States Navy. He is a 2nd class petty officer aboard the USS Dwight D. Eisenhower, an aircraft carrier.
This is where OUR story begins. Billy came home from a 6 month deployment is July of 2009. At the homecoming, he proposed..... such a romantic in his dress whites and all. We decided that we would plan a September wedding the following year, which is currently still being put together. What we forgot about was, he was going to leave for, yet another, 6 month deployment. Billy left on January 2, 2010 at 9:30am for his 4th deployment in his navy career. While he is gone, I will continue with the wedding planning, and wait patiently.
The point of this blog is for our friends and family that aren't here in the same city, state, or even country. In times like this, its our friends that help us get over the seperation, the sadness, the loneliness. So for my friends and family, thank you for always being there. Hope you enjoy!
